    Frequently asked questions

How do I convert HEIC to JPG?

Drop your .heic files onto the page, choose a JPG quality, and click Convert. The whole conversion runs in your browser — no upload step and no account.

Is this HEIC to JPG converter free?

Yes. It is free with no signup, no watermark, and no daily conversion limit.

Do I have to upload my files?

No. This tool ships a HEIC decoder (WebAssembly) to your browser and re-encodes the image on your own device. You can verify it yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and convert a file — no upload request appears.

    Are my photos private?

Yes, and in the strict sense: the files never leave your device, so there is no copy on our side to store, log, or leak.

Does it work on Windows 11 and iPhone?

Yes. It runs in any modern browser on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS. You do not need the paid HEVC extension Microsoft sells in the Store — the decoder is part of this page.

Does it accept .heif files too?

Yes. Both iPhone variants — .heic and .heif — are accepted, and both decode to a real JPG on your device. A file that fails is usually misnamed or not actually a still image (for example a renamed .mov clip); the page reports a decode error instead of producing a broken JPG.

Will converting to JPG lose quality?

Slightly, because JPG is a lossy format. At quality 90 the difference is hard to see on screen, and it’s comparable to what Apple and Google photo apps produce on export. Note that HEIC is already compressed, so this is a second-generation encode. If you need the image untouched, convert to PNG instead.

Can I convert several HEIC files at once?

Yes. Drop as many as you like — they convert one after another in your browser and can be downloaded together as a ZIP.

Is there a file size limit?

There is no server-side limit, because nothing is uploaded. The practical ceiling is your device’s memory; single files up to roughly 100 MB work on most computers.

Do I need an account or email address?

No. There is no signup, no login, and no email required at any point.

    Does it add a watermark?

No. The JPGs are full resolution and completely clean — no watermark, no logo, no border.

HEIC vs JPG — and when to convert

Here is what each format is for, and when converting HEIC photos to JPG is the right move.

    What is HEIC?

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the default photo format on modern iPhones and iPads. It stores higher-quality images in roughly half the space of JPG by using HEVC compression, and it can hold several images, depth data and Live Photo information in a single file.

    What is JPG?

JPG (also written JPEG) is the most widely supported image format in the world. Every browser, operating system, camera app and website can open it, which makes it the safe choice for sharing, printing and uploading.

    When you need it

Convert HEIC to JPG whenever you need to open iPhone photos on a Windows PC, attach them to an email or web form, upload them to a site that rejects HEIC, or share them with someone whose software cannot read HEIC.
