How to restore a booklet to single pages

    1. Add your booklet PDF

Drop one or more imposed 2-up landscape booklet PDFs, up to 25 MB and 200 pages per file. Everything stays on your device.

    2. Choose the binding

Pick left or right binding and whether trailing blank padding pages should be trimmed.

    3. Restore the pages

Each sheet is split into its visible halves and the halves are re-sequenced into the ordinary reading order, right in your browser.

    4. Download the plain PDF

Save the restored PDF — single pages at the original size, ready to read, share or merge with other PDFs.

    Frequently asked questions

Which booklet layouts can be restored?

Standard saddle-stitch 2-up landscape sheets where each sheet shows two pages side by side, interleaved front/back, are supported — the inverse of what the Booklet PDF tool produces.

Does the result really read 1, 2, 3…?

Yes. Each sheet is cropped into its visible left and right halves, and the halves are re-ordered into the ordinary reading sequence, at the original page size and resolution.

What about left-to-right vs right-to-left binding?

You choose the binding direction. Left binding places the first page on the left of the sheet; right binding places it on the right, as in right-to-left books.

What if my document was padded with blank pages?

Blank padding is optional. With padding off, blanks are added where needed; with it on, up to three known trailing padding pages are trimmed from the end of the restored result.

Are scanned booklets, form fields and signatures preserved?

Scanned booklets work — pages are cropped as visible images, no OCR. Form widgets, annotations and digital signatures are not restored, and cropping clips the view only; content outside the half is not security-redacted.

    Does my file get uploaded?

No. The restore runs entirely in your browser — no upload, no signup, nothing leaves your device.

Imposed booklet vs ordinary single pages

Here is what each format is for, and when converting imposed booklets back into ordinary PDFs is the right move.

What is Imposed 2-up booklet PDF?

Landscape sheets carrying two document pages side by side in folded saddle-stitch order — hard to read on screen.

    What is Ordinary single-page PDF?

One document page per PDF page in the natural 1, 2, 3… order at the original size — normal reading and sharing layout.

    When you need it

Restore when a booklet PDF was made for print but now needs to be read on screen, archived or combined with other documents. For making a new booklet from straight pages, use the Booklet PDF tool instead.
