Terms of Service

Last updated 2026-10-12.

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and ToolMink ("we", "us") covering your use of toolmink.com and the tools available on it (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

If you are using the Service on behalf of a business or other organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for that organization.

2. What the Service is

ToolMink is a collection of file conversion and PDF tools. Most of them run in your web browser; online processing tools — including PDF to Word, OCR and Word to PDF — process your file on our server after you confirm on the tool's page. The Service is free to use and does not require an account.

Advertising is not enabled on the Service today. Section 7 describes the advertising rules that will apply if that changes.

The Service is provided for general file-processing convenience. It is not a backup service, a document-management system, or a legal, financial or professional advisory service.

3. Where your files are processed: two kinds of tools

This section matters more than any other in these Terms. ToolMink publishes two different kinds of tool, and they are labeled so you can always tell which one you are using.

3.1 Tools that run entirely in your browser

These tools are labeled Processed in your browser. When you use one, your file is read and converted on your own device. It is not uploaded and no copy of it is transmitted to us or to anyone else. Because there is no copy on our side, there is nothing for us to store, retain, inspect or delete, and closing the tab clears the file from memory.

Most published tools run entirely in your browser. You can always check the current position, tool by tool, on ourHow It Works page, which is generated from the same data that builds each tool page.

3.2 Online processing tools

Online processing tools, including PDF to Word, OCR and Word to PDF, process your file on our server, because the work they do needs more than a browser page can reliably provide today. For these tools the following rules apply, and they are not optional for us:

  • The tool's own page carries an online processing label, visible before you select a file.
  • The tool is not listed together with browser-only tools. It appears in a separate group, both on its category page and on theHow It Works page.
  • Before your file leaves your device, the page asks for your confirmation, stating plainly that the file will be sent to our server for processing.
  • The upload and the retention behavior are described on the tool's own page and in ourPrivacy Policy.

We do not silently upload a file, and we do not present an upload-based tool as if it were browser-only.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • process files you do not have the right to process, or that infringe anyone's copyright, trade mark or other rights;
  • process material that is unlawful, or that depicts the sexual exploitation of minors, or that is intended to harass or harm another person;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, its infrastructure or its users' data, including by probing, scanning or load-testing it without our written permission;
  • interfere with the Service or place an unreasonable load on it, including through automated bulk use;
  • resell, rebrand or misrepresent the Service, or present it as your own;
  • remove, obscure or falsify any notice of ownership contained in the Service.

Automated access is not forbidden in itself. Reasonable, rate-limited, non-abusive use — including by search engines and AI crawlers that respect our robots.txt — is welcome.

5. Your files and your content

You keep all rights in the files you process. We claim no license and no ownership over them, and — for browser-only tools — we never receive a copy of them at all.

You are responsible for the files you choose to process and for having the right to process them.

6. Intellectual property in the Service

The Service itself — its code, text, design, tools and branding — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to our name, logo or branding.

The files you process are yours; the pages and tools that process them are ours.

7. Third-party content, links and advertising

Advertising is not enabled on the Service today: no ads are served on our pages, and no advertising vendor — including Google AdSense — currently receives data from this site or sets cookies through it. If we enable advertising, it will be supplied by third parties, which may include Google AdSense; we will not control which ads are shown, the presence of an ad will not be a recommendation, and we will not be a party to any transaction between you and an advertiser. How advertising cookies would work, and how to opt out of personalized advertising, is described in ourPrivacy Policy.

The Service may link to third-party websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, terms or privacy practices. Following a third-party link means leaving our Terms and entering theirs.

8. Copyright complaints

We respect the intellectual property rights of others. Most ToolMink tools process your file in your browser and we never receive a copy of it. The online processing tools, including PDF to Word, OCR and Word to PDF, send your file to our server for processing, and its temporary copy is deleted when the conversion request finishes, as described in ourPrivacy Policy.

A copyright complaint about this site will in practice be about one of our own pages — our text, our code or our images. If you believe that something here infringes a copyright you own or control, email us and we will look at it.

8.1 How to send a copyright complaint

Email [email protected].

We handle copyright complaints by email and do not accept paper notices. Email reaches the person who can act on it, and it gives you a dated record of your notice.

8.2 What to include

There is no required form, and we will not reject a message for being written informally. It helps if you include:

  1. your name, and an email address we can reply to;
  2. identification of the work you own or control — if one message covers several works, a list is fine;
  3. the URL on this site that you say infringes it, and enough detail for us to locate the material;
  4. a short statement that you own the copyright, or are authorized to act for the owner, and that this use is not authorized.

9. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components, or that the output of any tool will be accurate, complete or fit for any particular purpose. You are responsible for checking any output before you rely on it.

Conversion results depend on the input file. We do not guarantee any particular output quality, output file size, or compatibility with any third-party application.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. Because the Service is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you will not exceed the amount you have paid us for the Service, which is zero.

Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms, including claims that files you processed infringed the rights of a third party.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. The "Last updated" date above will change when we do, and material changes will be described on this page. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Your statutory rights

We do not require you to bring a dispute in a particular country's courts. The Service is free and needs no account, and we do not retain user content.

If you are a consumer resident in the EEA, the UK or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer-protection rules, nothing in these Terms removes rights you have under those rules.

14. Contact

Questions about these Terms:contact us, or email[email protected]. Copyright notices: see section 8 above.
